After I lost an initial 80 pounds 2009 which brought me within 30 pounds of my first goal weight, I gained back 25 pounds of it, which took me most of the next year losing. And for the last few years, I've had this pattern: A wakeup call on New Year's Day, a couple months of struggling to get back on track, decent but not great, weight loss through spring and summer, and the first part of autumn. And then, around the end of October or so, I'd start gaining again. And I've been gaining and losing the same lousy 20 or so pounds all over again.
